Drawing: Pencil on Paper.
Chinese ancients used a phrase: Fang Zhi Yuan Lu, which means 'square feet round head' to describe the generation of human beings. This refer to the Chinese understanding of the nature: sky is round while land is square. This is the eastern people's fascinating perspective of the world.
I attempt to express my understanding of the world through my painting. The painting is also an assumption of the state of the original life. I wish to describe the elusive life world through figurative painting. What I present are usually somewhere between recognizable and unfamiliar figure. This is very important for me, because I have no interest in the reduction of the real world, what really can make me excited is obtaining those unknown images through my practice.
