ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Black wooden frame, glass, acid-free matting. Świętochłograph is an imaginary device that captures several years of my life. It represents the period when together with my wife we created and managed a café in the Świętochłowice city. It's a glimpse into the past, so the lens of the device is directed backward (from right to left - the opposite reading direction). The café was named "Dywan Kawa" (Pl. - coffee-carpet), symbolizing a magic flying carpet that transports people into the world of history and coffee flavor. This carpet that is present in the graphic is placed underneath the wall of our café, which in turn represents the memory module of the Świętochłograf device. The café's logo is depicted on the viewfinder. During that time, we viewed everything from the prism of the café owners. The artwork comes with a passport containing a detailed description. Additionally, the name of the first owner may be handwritten by the author on the graphic, in line with the original concept of the artwork. The painting is part of an extensive series called 'Grafiki Śląsk' The graphic has a limited edition of 20 prints.
