Michael Fantozzi was born in Rome in 1984. An Italian-American citizen, he spent his childhood between Rome and New York, where he quickly developed a deep artistic sensitivity, nurtured by visits to museums and cultural landmarks in both Italy and the United States. After attending a scientific high school and later studying languages at university, he began a career as a real estate agent, which he pursued alongside his true passion: art. A self-taught artist, Michael has been painting for as long as he can remember. His early works—small and textured—were born from an instinctive use of acrylic paint. His inspiration comes directly from the world around him: the vibrant colors of the Italian landscape, the scents of the Mediterranean, the sounds of nature, and the atmosphere of urban life. His artistic expression, which ranges from painting to clay sculpture, reflects a personal and poetic vision of reality. After years of creating privately, it was through the encouragement of gallery owners and art professionals that Michael began exhibiting his work. From that moment, his artistic journey gained momentum, bringing his creations to galleries and art fairs across Italy and Europe, where they were warmly received. His works, vibrant and full of meaning, have reached audiences across Europe and beyond—from Portugal to the Netherlands, from France to Germany, from Malta to Romania, and further to Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg, and the United States. In every country, his art has spoken a universal language—one that, often with a touch of irony, gently but powerfully denounces marine pollution and its consequences. In recent years, he has received several prestigious awards, participating in major art competitions and biennials, including those in Milan and Rome. On December 18, 2024, Michael Fantozzi was honored with the “Italian Excellence for the Promotion of Made in Italy” award at the Press Room of the Chamber of Deputies in Montecitorio, Rome. The event took place in the presence of Members of Parliament Christian Di Sanzo and Fabio Porta, along with other prominent figures from the Italian cultural and professional scene. His work “Sea Symphony” is now part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Art in Tolentino.
