Artist Statement For me, creating has always been a companion, allowing me to make sense of seemingly uncontrolled situations through controlled mediums. Combining my love of paper, my obsession with the profile and my skills in graphic design, Cutaway Art Collection explores the unique inner nature of a person's story, probing dreams, ambitions, and love through the essence of individual identity. The work is made from layers of cut paper, meticulously designed, and arranged inside wooden shadowbox frames with a process focused on reduction, to cut away, to simplify, to pare down, to give the outside world an inscape of the mind. Exquisite details, bold color, and symbolism of the past, present, and future; Cutaway is harmony and balance of forces, the ebb and flow, an accessible way of thinking, in the widest sense permanence and change.
