About The Artwork
When I started to paint the "screen" with Prickly Pears, they immediately reminded me of some cosmic creatures and made me feel good & goofy. So when the gold on one of the panels gone bad in one place and I had to make a new one for the triptych, I decided to go crazy with the flawn one. Thoughts of strange planets and strange creatures reminded me of Prot from the book (and movie) K-PAX. His planet was supposed to be totally queer - colorful, with unclear gender divisions, unusuall sexual relations; but always full of joy, love and understanding ... I decided to make Prickly Pears rainbow and add them plastic moving eyes to make it even more fun (long before I've seen "everything everywhere at once" - it was a paralll idea). Artwork is oil and schlagmetal on HDF + plastic eyes. Beware that there's area od schlagmetal that has slightly different texture (see attached photos). It is framed with natural pine wood.

Most of the highly celebrated art is about discovering new or commenting on current pressing matters, but my art is about simple everyday willingness to live. I paint because this gives me purpose and joy – it’s like humming nice song for a hundredth time, even thou there were many covers before; preparing favorite drink for a friend and myself, to enjoy it again in a new glass perhaps; dressing up for no occasion, just to look and feel good; caressing a lover… I wish it was the same for recipients of my art – everyday pleasure in experiencing it. Like a book that you red many times, yet you still reach for it; dish that you always order in that place that is there forever... Repeatable, often classic topics; favorite color palette; small and big things that makes us want to live, even thou world can be such an ugly place. I want my art to make it better - even for a moment, even in a tiny way. I want it to remind myself and others that it's worth to try everyday...
