Wilma de Walle (the Netherlands,1940) is a professional visual artist. Her work consists of so-called 'kijkkasten' (3D multi- element visual art), installations, drawings and paintings. Next to her own collection she designed decors, stage outfits and furniture for theatre productions. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries in The Netherlands (Amsterdam, Utrecht, Den Haag, Rotterdam), was received with highly positive reviews and was purchased at home and abroad. RECENTLY she made a series of wall objects, named "Memories" (see COLLECTION "Layered Memories"). In these artworks she shows image fragments from World War II. These fragments refer to her memories of her childhood during those dark and threatening years. In several of these works she added images of one or two playing children, hereby visualizing her hopeful idea, that in their play children will unite dream and wonderment in a healing way. In these wall objects Wilma de Walle aims to bring an ode to the child.
