Star Mirror Installation

I have been creating stained glass objects for about 30 years. I use the Tiffany technique, ie; copper foil instead of lead came. My works are original though I do get inspiration from places I have visited eg: Cambodia, Morocco, India, Bali and Spain among many others. Stained Glass is, in my opinion, one of the most difficult mediums to photograph as light is transmitted through the glass, hence flash photography or other forms of direct illumination can have a negative effect on the piece. Naturally transmitted light is the best way to view Stained Glass, especially windows because as the light changes with the time of day then so do the colours and textures of the glass. I like to call Stained Glass a Kinetic Art Form for this reason. I also work with old wood which I recycle like old doors which I make into tables,benches and other rustic furniture. I have a partner called Susanne Smit and since we have been together I have taught her the basics of Stained Glass and she has developed her own,wonderful style. She signs her work with a SIGMA.
