An American icon is that of the hero with an ideal in his head and a gun in his hand. This concept is revisited in the work "Três Oitão", by Renato Gosling. Realized with an airsoft gun, epoxy resin, Dadinho packages, acrylic, and a cast rifle bullet, it deals with several ironies. The main one is the replacement of the cold deadly bullets from a real revolver by candy called Dadinho. Launched on January 25th, 1954, among the numerous celebrations of the IV Centennial of the city of São Paulo, such as the inaugurations of Ibirapuera Park and the Obelisk - Mausoleum of the Constitutionalist Soldier of 32, soft and in the shape of a dice, they are made from peanuts and were originally produced by the Dizioli company. The product was called IV Centenário, but, due to its shape, it soon began to be popularly called Dadinho; and the manufacturer adopted the name. Besides conquering people by its flavor, the candy had an innovation: the packaging with metallic silver-colored paper. In relation to this kind of material, the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of São Paulo brought another novelty: airplanes dropped, at night, triangles of silver paper, which, when illuminated in the air by spotlights, shone, creating what became known as "silver rain". And there is also the expression "silver bullet", used as the only way to eliminate witches, werewolves, and other mythological figures, and also with the connotation of designating a simple and sure solution to a complex problem. Faced with the dichotomies of life, throwing life candy instead of death bullets seems to be one of those good alternatives.
