About The Artwork
The edges of black glazed glossy tiles have been sawn so that the glaze does not run off at the edge and fine saw cuts are created at the edges.Then the tiles are scratched with a steel pen and treated with hammer and chisel.Where the tiles are processed, the black enamel disappeared. At these places the surface of white ceramic becomes visible. Various simple figures have been made visible on the pattern of 4x4 squares. Well-known themes of Nico Kok are visuele in this work: Squares,patterns, proporties of material, how the work is made, diagonals, etc. The work is signed on the back.
