I create art using discarded, worn, sun-bleached, mended and time-traveled textiles and garments - fabrics that carry the silent traces of past lives in every thread. Each work begins with cloth that has already lived: washed, frayed, mended, and faded. These materials have journeyed far before reaching my hands, and my work is a way of honoring that quiet, often invisible history. With a background in fashion, I feel a deep responsibility toward the materials I work with in a different context. I see myself as an ambassador for textiles - committed to prolonging the life of valuable resources for as long as possible. In a world where fabric is often treated as disposable, I aim to slow things down, to extend the narrative of these worn materials through art. Through mending, hand-stitching, composing and layering textures, I give these textiles a new purpose. I often dye them by hand or paint directly onto their surfaces when the composition calls for it, working intuitively to reveal their raw, tactile beauty. I’m drawn to what’s ragged, repaired, and imperfect - the visible marks of use and endurance. By reworking these fragments, I aim to elevate their value and speak to the idea of transformation through care. There is something deeply poetic in the way time wears things down: the gentle erosion of fabric, the soft, natural fading of colour, the repeated motion of washing and mending. My work is inspired by this slow process of change and the resilience it reveals. While my pieces are not literal landscapes, they often evoke elements of nature - forms that resemble forest floors, coastlines, or weathered terrain. These impressions emerge not by design but through the intuitive language of textile and thread. My work expresses a quiet, grounded sense of place - not a specific location, but an emotional landscape shaped by memory, texture, and time. In transforming these remnants into wall-based compositions, I hope to preserve their essence and invite viewers to see the beauty and worth in what is often cast aside. My work is about memory, material, and the layered stories that live within cloth. Even the scraps left behind during my creative process are precious to me. They carry the same stories and beauty as the finished pieces, and I often use them to make new works of art. For me, nothing is wasted; every fragment holds potential and meaning.
