"Adaptation No.08" Artwork

Working in sculpture since 2022, the artist creates a body of work consisting of bas-reliefs in various sizes, ranging from large-scale pieces to miniatures, crafted from natural materials. These works balance geometric minimalism with organic, volumetric forms. The artist’s sculptures delve into the physical, psychological, and emotional processes prompted by significant life changes, with a particular focus on immigration and adaptation—experiences drawn from personal life. The works explore emotions such as fear, anxiety, joy, and the sense of novelty that accompany transitional moments. They address the stress of detaching from familiar surroundings and loved ones, the impact of immigration on family dynamics, and the complex interplay between integration and alienation in a new society. These pieces aim to resonate with those navigating similar experiences of adaptation while also engaging viewers curious about these themes. Combining familiar imagery with abstract forms, the works leave behind clear narratives, inviting an open and interpretive interaction.
