City life inspired this piece. The city of Johannesburg is akin to an unhealed wound, it breaks open at dusk when the economic markets awaken, unhealed from the judgement, crime and degradation of societal mishaps, the city still beats never letting it's citizens down.I used gauze to illustrate this wound beneath the city's veil of "okayness".And the gold that pierces through the earth is testimony to the richness that the city once was.The colours of the city is akin to a beating throbbing heart.I used mixed media, paper,pencil, ink, watercolour, acrylic, oil and gauze.
