Cat Scratch Fever Artwork

This is a newer style of mine and it was such a joy to create with a new medium, alcohol inks with acrylic paints! I painted over a previous painting and I left the outline of a cat, birdhouse and flower remain in this new painting. After placing paints on the canvas, I saw a fish and textured markings from the previous painting that looked like scratch marks so hence, Cat Scratch Fever. I felt a new sense of freedom when I did this piece. It showed me how I have simplified my life based on doing a painting that looks like a child painted it! One of my favorite quotes is by Picasso, "It took me a lifetime to learn how to paint like a child again!" This painting is stretched on canvas and the sides are painted, ready to hang as is.
