ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A child is born with a total sense of love and trust. He is pure and innocent from birth. And only an adult begins to destroy this trust in him. And at this point in our lives, we begin to make our first choices. Everything that is considered imposed on us from the outside is only that we ourselves have made a CHOICE in accepting it in relation to ourselves. We have chosen to accept. But no matter where we are or what happens to us, there is always a ray of hope with us. A ray of hope that can lead us out of any darkness. This artwork is part of a series titled "Journey to Inner Freedom".

"Know thyself, and thou shalt know the Gods and the Universe." Hilon Anna Yakusheva is an artist explorer, an alchemist, a practical philosopher of the new time, working in the style of metamodernism. She is an archivist of her time and referring to the monomyth "The Hero's Journey" in her works shows the search for her own path to inner freedom. Anna is a Ukrainian metamodernist artist based in UK. She was born in 1991. Since 2007 she started to study academic drawing and classical painting at local art school. In 2013, she graduated Zaporizhzhya National Technical University and received a diploma in interior design. From 2012 she worked as interior designer and painted paintings individually for the interiors of her projects. Her projects participated in international interior design competitions and were published in well-known magazines. In 2016 Anna moved to England. Finding herself in a new country and becoming a mum of three, she started to explore herself. She developed an interest in the topic of emotional intelligence, psychology, esotericism, and various spiritual practices. She also began to expand her art practice and to learn watercolour techniques and book illustration. In parallel, Anna gave individual drawing lessons, created a series of illustrations for children's educational material and for personal collection of children's books. In 2023 Anna creates her own unique authorial style and began creating conceptual art based on watercolour and collage techniques. In artwork she aims to convey certain messages and stitched "cues" to the viewer for their inner transformations. From this year she began to actively pursue the development of her career as a global artist. Her works are in private collections in Great Britain, Germany, Italy, America, Canada, Russia and Ukraine. "For my visual language I use an incredibly versatile watercolour illustration, light, fluid, like life itself. By supplementing the work with words and magazine clippings, I aim to convey certain messages and coded "cues" to the viewer for their inner transformation. In this way, I create my own unique authorial style. I strive to evoke the viewer's inner, perhaps hidden emotions, to awaken their consciousness to a dialogue with themselves and to show that each of us is unique and is the Great Creator not only of our own lives, but of this World as a whole. My works open your eyes, awaken something very important and forgotten inside, and change your life.
