Luis Salas van der Meer is a visual artist and independent researcher. He has worked on the development and production of various interactive works of visual perception at the Museo Interactivo Mirador (MIM), Santiago de Chile. He has worked as a professor and directed various workshops at the School of Visual Arts Education and Teaching at the Universidad Viña del Mar, Chile: “Free Sculpture Workshop”, “Experimental Techniques Workshop II”, “Production Workshop I”, “Production Workshop II”, “Integrated Specialty Workshop”, “Drawing and Graphic Expression Workshop” and “Drawing and Painting Workshop”. His works cross different genres of the visual arts. These assemblages are translated into installations, environments or spatial interventions. He uses countless formal resources, contemporary visual operations and new technologies: artificial light, sound and mechanical phenomena of visual perception. He also incorporates painting, drawing, photography, video, objects, collage, assemblage and sculpture. Along with this multidisciplinary search, themes such as territory, identity in space, the debate between art and politics, poetry and city, art and education are incorporated.
