Mixed Media, Sculptural Paper, Grommets, Wired onto Canvas. Cobalt Blue edges. Part of the "Constructs of the Mind" Collection based on mindful awareness // INSPIRATION // This piece is an abstract interpretation of our internal thoughts. The background canvas represents the outside noise while the looped papers are the multitude of thoughts competing for our attention, with a single yellow one as that moment of clarity. In his book The Untethered Soul, Michael A. Singer helps us recognize this constant inner chatter so that we may catch ourselves and redirect those ingrained patterns. Ask yourself: are your thoughts stuck in a reactionary state or are you able to take the reins? SYMBOLISM // The layered busy background represents the outside noise and distractions around us, while the raised shapes are the thoughts that pop up inside our head, layered on top of one another as they compete for our attention. In the midst of the shapes painted blue inside is one that is painted pale yellow - the moment of clarity that we have to work to seek out before it slips away. RECOMMENDED RESOURCES // - Michael A.
