I started drawing illustrations and comics as a child. Over time, I perfected all the techniques, even woodcarving and stone mosaic, as you can see on my profile. My favorite technique is oil on canvas. For the last few years, I have fallen in love with abstractions. The latest works, these exhibited here at SAATCHI ART are a combination of digital printing, acrylic and oil. I first form shapes on canvas or paper with acrylic, water or oil paints. Sometimes I also use details from my older abstractions. Then I digitize them, cut them into various shapes, modify, change colors etc...as a collage, until I get the desired composition. After that I match the colors and contrasts. First I cover the surface with various colors. Then over that I print a 'collage' that is like a 'mosaic of a pointillist grid' so that the first layer clearly penetrates the 'collage' and thus forms the whole painting. After all that there is a thick layer of acrylic gel that I make myself, which gives a special depth and expressiveness of colors to the painting. In the end I coat everything with a thin layer of oil paint and linseed oil to even out the colors and contrasts. Each painting is unique, one of a kind.
