ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My large than life art work ‘emerald curves’ commands your attention. The giclee print is a photo of a large textured oil painting which giving the illusion of a green landscape using beautiful highlighted palette knife gestures deep within the oil painting, which in turn is a giant figurative artwork. The work is deliberately androgynous, playing with the viewers gaze, aiming to disrupt ‘the gaze’ that falls so strongly on bias of it being the female form, thus pushing back against the idea that ‘beauty’ of the human form is found predominantly in the feminine, with opportunity for both as in the masculine.
