My work is often based on drawings, model photographs and images of classic works, printed on canvas and sometimes worked with oil paint, and signed in oil. I work in a unique way by stacking and mixing various images using digital techniques. My creations arise from a carefully curated mix of photographs and handmade drawings. This hybrid process allows me to explore and bring together both the digital and analog into a new, layered image. My work is heavily influenced by my fascination with contemporary developments in quantum physics. The abstract and often elusive concepts from this scientific discipline inspire me to create images that explore the boundary between reality and imagination. At the same time, I have a deep appreciation for classical painting, and I look for ways to connect these historical traditions with my own contemporary imagery. An artist like Francis Bacon, with his powerful and distorted depiction of the human figure, is an important reference in my work. Like Bacon, I am interested in dissecting and restructuring the image to reveal deeper emotional and existential themes. Through the use of both digital techniques and traditional media, I attempt to bridge the past and the future, and to depict the complexity of the human experience.
