Born in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, my artistic journey began in secondary school when I first sketched a portrait on a classroom table, a simple act that ignited my passion for art. This early discovery led me to pursue formal training, and I earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Fine and Applied Arts from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State. During my studies, I deepened my expertise in painting and drawing, refining my techniques and artistic voice. As an artist, I embrace optimism and a growth mindset, believing in the transformative power of positivity in both art and life. My work primarily explores the vibrant possibilities of oil and acrylic paints, blending traditional and contemporary influences. I have had the privilege of exhibiting alongside renowned artists both in Nigeria and internationally, contributing to the dynamic dialogue of the global art scene. Currently based in Abuja, Federal Capital of Nigeria, I continue to create, experiment, and share my vision through evocative and thought-provoking pieces. ARTIST STATEMENT Art is born from imagination and built with the mind, heart, and soul. For me, it is a vital means of self-expression a way to translate my feelings, moods, beliefs, thoughts, and surroundings into tangible form, provided they remain genuine and true to my inner world. As a seasoned professional painter, my work reflects my environment and emotions. My subjects span human figures, portraiture, abstract compositions, still-life objects, and landscapes, all aimed at capturing beauty and evoking emotion. Each piece is shaped by my beliefs, thoughts, and surroundings, rendered in diverse media such as charcoal, pastel, acrylic, oil paints, and newsprint, each medium expanding my technical and expressive range. Through an endless exploration of visual vocabularies, I create cinematic, panoramic, and performative environments. Familiar elements merge into unrecognizable spaces, where recurring figures and reinvented sceneries collide, forming deeper, almost therapeutic imagery. This process seeks closure an elusive resolution that lingers just beyond reach. Rooted in African artistic traditions, my work reinterprets cultural identity through modern tools and contemporary materials. I engage with socio-cultural themes, using my art to convey messages of hope, love, and courage, bridging the past and present in a dynamic visual dialogue.
