ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The work "Era el cielo" which in English means, It was a sky" belongs to the series called "gaps" which are constructed from torn threads of textile articles such as sheets, bedspreads and curtains from donations or discards from other people and mine, on a nail loom measuring 180 x 130 cm. This research guides a large part of my work, which is finding clothes, fabrics and various materials and subjecting them to a process of deconstruction, tearing, cutting until everything is converted into threads. After that, sometimes, the threads are dyed before starting the weaving process. Go filling the structure the loom, which is nothing more than a wooden structure; requires patience and a lot of resistance, since it is a work that requires Effort beyond the hands, also the body, which is in constant movement in a process of delivery and discipline. This work connects me with a ritualistic practice of reinvention and, at the same time, an encounter with ancestry.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

In my work, I explore textile materials and procedures to produce constructions, sensory and wearable objects that relate to space as a way to produce photographs, performances, videos and installations. I investigate the ritualistic dimension of handicrafts as a practice of reinvention, tensioning notions of identity and belonging, of fictionalized bodies to create fables about other natures and relationships between the feminine and the domestic. I am interested in using second-hand materials, things discarded and accumulated over time to speculate on the memory load of these materialities and as a strategy to interfere in the fate and permanence of things in the world.
