Berlin inspired. Berlin made. A composition of concrete, acrylic paint and genuine 24k gold on natural linen, framed in beech. Sophie Mangelsen creates her very own and characteristically gestural abstractions, giving them her very personal touch of elegance, rhythm and finesse, all in a Berlin understatement vibe. חמש [hebrew: hamesh = five] is part of the artist's current series FIVE: A composition of five materials that form this artwork - materials with powerful character, depth, radiating harmony and tranquility. Combining a reduced color palette of white and gold with the warm natural tone of linen and the with the rough touch of concrete, the artwork creates a vivid statement in a minimalistic and contemporary design. Ready to hang design artwork. Hand signed on the back. Framed in a natural beechwood floater frame, with a total size of the framed artwork: 102x82x4cm. Purchase with gallery certificate of authenticity. Worldwide shipping. Berlin, 2022.

Sophie Mangelsen creates her very own and characteristically gestural abstractions, giving them her very personal touch of elegance, rhythm and finesse, all in a Berlin understatement vibe. Her informal art appeals to introspection and evokes an inner and outer dialogue with the viewer - posing questions about consciousness and unconsciousness, harmony and disharmony, balance and imbalance - to inner landscapes of the complexity of our mind. Sophie Mangelsen, from Berlin, is additionally inspired on her journey by her experience as a psychologist and therapist. She studied at the Université Paris VIII and the University of Leipzig and found her form of expression in painting already in her youth. Her paintings are shown at international exhibitions and are in private collections around the world. In 2022 she was invited as a jury member in the international competition of BALTHASART. The artist lives in Berlin Kreuzberg.
