This body of work titled Family has been created during a year of experimentation. These artworks, each unique, represent a family relative. The colours and patterns speak to that individual and also the original artworks they emerged from. The original artworks were constructed of finger-knitted lengths, either on board or woven on copper pipe. Once completed they were then photographed and edited using various surface design techniques to produce the final pattern. Then sent to print on a collection of different fabrics; Crepe, Cotton Canvas, Chiffon and Linen. Presented here as a set, they are also charming on there own. Serving as a Family portrait of history, contemporary style and creative endeavors.
