This is a photo scan where no camera, no negative, no digital intervention was used. In this case, the subject is three goose eggs and the equipment a scanner, black cloth, and a laptop computer. The scanner's point-source of light, like the sun, reveals every detail that is on the glass but any details not flat on the glass are thrown into soft focus, much like the results attained with a view camera to control depth of field. This is one in a series of eggs, plants, fruits, and vegetables that I call "humble" the food of every day. in Provence in the South of France.
