Born in 1970 in Pamplona, Spain, Javier Aristu mainly uses photography, graphics, video, objects or texts and is especially interested in the relationships between image and word, reality and chance or meaning and nonsense. He produces his first pieces in 2005, but it is not until 2022 when he begins to exhibit and publish regularly. His work can be categorized into two areas, one photographic guided by looking and another conceptual ruled by thinking. Among his most conscious influences are Bruce Nauman, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Piero Manzoni, Elliott Erwitt, Hans-Peter Feldmann or Robert Frank, while the unconscious ones are countless.
