ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work only uses the four pure colors of CMYK. I used my own optical color mixing system. All the colors presented in the eyes of the audience are mixed in the audience's visual system. Sensibility information is individual, and it is impossible to obtain concepts based on sensibility alone, and it is impossible to obtain the answer of how the world works. The difference between sensibility things and reason is that the characteristics of the former are individual. Since individual properties are related to each other, all sensibility things are individual things that are apart from each other (Aussereinander), and their exact abstract form is juxtaposed (Nebeneinander) and continuous with each other (Nacheinander). Sensibility can make us feel nature, but there is no way to understand and use the universal laws of nature. Only rational and universal thoughts can guide mankind to build today's scientific and technological civilization. Through reason, people have created the most powerful belief in human history, science. The core of this series of works is the worship of the belief in science.

Cui, Decheng (b.1990) is a conceptual artist whose works never limited to any artistic language, from traditional oil painting to animation and more. He obtained his two undergraduate diplomas, B.F.A in painting and B.A in Industrial Design (Science), in China in 2013. After graduation, he transferred his interest from traditional painting and design to contemporary art. He has been making contemporary art at an MFA program of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago since 2017. Decheng has shown his work through solo and group exhibitions and art fairs in many countries. Decheng Cui, “The purpose of my work is to use it to fight fear from death. Since the demise of the flesh is inevitable, then I can only find ways to plant the fragments of my soul among human civilizations, to root it to console myself. Therefore, it is unimportant to me that what kind of art language I use, and it play a whole key role in my work that what kind of my concept, my soul, in it.”
