About The Artwork
I have created a series of artworks based on the feeling that in our fast moving and changing culture we are often both actors, and confusingly, in the audience at the same time. Most of these image creations contain a digitised stylised crowd; and although some of the global crowd portrayed in these artworks might feel that they are in the right place, there are more than a few individuals who find themselves in the wrong time, and in the wrong place. As the internet irreversibly consolidates it's position, this situation can be mirrored by the real global crowd of humanity as we wrestle with what we have done. These works are nothing more than a comment on our digital world.

( andyjoynes.com ) Born into suburban Birmingham, Andy Joynes leaned naturally towards art from an early age. He won two national competitions with his art as a teenager, and was offered a place at Bournville School of Art and Crafts, and creativity has been a part of his life ever since. While creating and exhibiting art images in a variety of mixed media, he also gained experience in Stage set design, Corporate Interior Design, promotional design for various large department stores, and furniture design. His contemporary work is created using mixed media and digital technology. With an enthusiasm to use art as a means to express ideas, his works are an eclectic mix of real and surreal, with the abiding themes asking questions about time and space, and the human condition and existence within them, providing a wide range of ideas and questions that motivate him to create.
