ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Into My Arms" is a male nude that is part of a classic tradition of Greco-Latin or Renaissance statuary: beautiful veined marble, an almost ideal male body, perfect mimesis (due to photography) , etc. However, it is not only a male nude, but the portrait of two figures, one of which is out of frame except for his arms which come to embrace the man who occupies the space of the painting. It is these two arms crossing the naked torso of the male model that give the title to the painting, the only trace of an invisible but essential partner... This painting is a unique piece made in mixed technique on canvas and mixing photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glaze and transparent square in relief). It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 98 x 98 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 80 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
