Federico Winer, born in Buenos Aires in 1973, is a visual artist, photographer, professor at the University of Buenos Aires. With a diverse background coming from Political Science, Philosophy, Architecture and the arts, he is one of the founding members of the Experimental Group Soy Cuyano, a multidisciplinary team of intellectuals and scientists who explore the relations between philosophy, sciences and the arts. His photographic work ULTRADISTANCIA experiment with the boundaries between travel, photography, geography, urbanism and digital art. A reflection on the possibilities of travel without movement enabled by new technologies and satellite imagery. Federico Winer was invited by Google to be layer ULTRADISTANCIA photographs in the release of the New Google Earth, enabling Google Earth users to experience Winer's work while browsing the Earth. Winer's work has been exhibited and performed worldwide including in Buenos Aires, New York, Melbourne, Bangkok, Córdoba, Toronto, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt, Madrid, and Barcelona. His work has also been featured prominently in the press including in The Huffington Post, The Guardian, Photoworld China, La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, The Creators Project, LensCulture, Forbes Magazine, Vice, Design Boom and The Atlantic, among others.
