Selçuk Dizlek is a sculptor, subtly blurring the boundaries between painting, object, relief, sculpture, interaction and light art in his groups of works. The line emerges as a unifying element, whether as a sculptural, expansive “drawing” or as luminous strips of light. Dizlek's sculptures are geometrically abstract/concrete on the one hand, while his expansive wall sculptures are characterized by a free, informal formal language on the other. His oeuvre contains a variety of materials: Plexiglas, metal, concrete, wood, ceramic tiles, everyday objects such as skateboard decks and, above all, the fascinating element of “light”, which is used as a sculptural material. Light boxes or sculptures, light steles or sculptures as well as color space objects or reliefs made of reflective, fluorescent and translucent materials such as Plexiglas have been a focal point for many years.
