About The Artwork

"Love - A Memory Sculpture" (video) BlauGelbe Gallery, Zwettl screening: https://flic.kr/p/2hKFtHu Stills: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmGRn81U Moments of a memory. Abstract traces and noisy audible tissue. Fuzzy symbols of dreams pass by. Overlapping spheres of dialogues. Jumping details of resistance. Fluid moments of realignment and vibrant togetherness of clarity. The chirping of crickets, rain, and cowbell sounds grow more compressed and freeze. Somebody speaks in a fragmentized way. The former movement exists as a trace of memory now. The film summarizes the results of an artistic-philosophical experiment in India - on the subject of love. Title: Love - A Memory Sculpture Country of Origin/Filming: Austria/India Film and Drawings: Mersolis Schöne Sound and Composition: Katharina Klement Film Type: Video Art, Experimental, Short Film Language: English Original Format: Digital, 4K, Color Running Time: 3 minutes 52 seconds

Mersolis Schöne is a German Artist, Film Director, and Researcher based in Vienna, Austria. He is a member of Künstlerhaus Wien in Austria, The Professional Association of Visual Artists in Germany, and other associations. His works "Memory Sculptures" (Gedächtnisskulpturen) presented at Saatchi Art are based on a symbol-language. The displayed drawings act as thinking tools to design an internal architecture of sculptural memory. Have you ever thought about what our lives would be like if we treated our memories like sculptures? That's the question at the heart of the "Memory Sculpture" ("Gedächtnisskulptur") concept. The process of creation varies, on the one hand there are interactive performative settings in exchange with other artists (e.g. from the fields of music, literature, film, performance), where the works are created during the performative exchange. On the other hand, there are clearly defined symbol formations that are developed over months and years.
