About The Artwork

This original is from my series “Undercurrents" and suggests some of the ways we play with how much of ourselves we show at any given time. it Is about who we are and the many layers we have: the body, our dreams, emotions, vulnerability, reactions, reflections, escape, love, calmness, intensity, desires, worry... They depict our light and dark sides, the parts of ourselves which we show and those that we hide. My unpredictable adding of shape and colors allows me to simultaneously cover and reveal unexpected depths of experience while one color or element emerges as more powerful or striking. This technique is guided by my psychic interpretation of my subject, a combination that portrays the beauty and uniqueness of who we are.

Bulgarian born, Los Angeles based Zlatka Paneva is an artist, whose background is in Fine Arts and sculpture, has developed a distinct style uniting technology and skill. Through an elaborate process, Paneva creates unanticipated combinations, entering a collision of visual information. Her work is produced through a range of hand and digital processes that create simultaneously familiar and completely fresh results. She uses four types of processes throughout her body of work: digital, collage, painting and printing techniques. "Everything in my work is rooted in me—biographically and culturally. My roots, my visions, my issues are represented in my work." In her art, Z.Paneva create a atmosphere focused on harmony, purity, and symbolism, where the balance and interdependence permeate in every particle of human being and nature, exchange and create the beauty in the coexistence. She portray human existence in relation to the changing world, mood and intensity of current time and whether it is a portrait of a person, flora or a fauna, her work reflects the complexity of Coexistence... The prints and illustrations from her Rococco-LA collection have become cult images and are sold all around the world with much success. The last few years, Z,Paneva has been working on her art full time and what she's making is excellent - it's visually exciting, charming and funny but has so much depth and wisdom. Her work is in national and international collections.
