Gaya Lastovjak (b. 1987) is an established contemporary visual artist who breaks the boundaries of traditional techniques by creating unique, three-dimensional wall sculptures. Her artistic signature is defined by the "Human Trace"—a deliberate, unrepeatable stamp of manual craftsmanship visible in every element of her work. At the core of her practice is the human experience and emotion. By freezing figures in a monochrome white world, the artist explores themes of loneliness, struggle, empathy, and existential anxiety. Her primary tool of expression is body language; the gestures and poses of her frozen figures carry a powerful emotional charge, urging viewers to pause and reflect on themselves. Due to the immense complexity of the creative process and meticulous attention to detail, working on a single object takes from several months to a year.
