About The Artwork
As an art learner I lost track understanding the vibrancy and relation of and between colours, that is where my nostalgic experiences of the worn out beauty of Balochistan lead my aesthetics to a direction and I started to structure my visual vocabulary on the basic earthy tones i.e sandalwood, charcoal, white, umber etc. My previous work was an experiential textile art display where I studied the shades of brown which are found in nature & undergo the process of ageing over long periods of time. Eventually, these natural elements translate into a melancholic state of decay. I depicted nature through textile art; incorporating organic materials like animal hair and skin along with equally organic earth-grown coffee, cotton and jute. I tried expressing the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete only to make a point of appreciating things naturally worn out yet pleasant at the same time.
