ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Nowadays we think about ourselves as the center of the universe. And because of our egocentrism we often forget about other Earthlings. But examining closer we can find a lot of beautiful and magnificent worlds around us, for example, in the garden or in the pond. They are parts of something bigger as well as human’s world is the part of the planet and there are the same processes as among human beings. The name of this graphic series is “First Crew” It’s about the world that might be very close to us. And there are different types of events on the Earth: on the one hand it could be an epic battle for the planet, on the other – it just meaningless swarming of germs…

Natalia Pivko was born on a train at Kursk railway station, Kursk, USSR. 1990-1995 studied at Saint Petersburg Art School named after Nicholas Roerich, majoring in Painting. 1999-2004 studied at Saint Petersburg State Art and Industry Academy, majoring in Book Illustration and Design. At the same time, worked as an illustrator for magazines, books, and as a scene painter for fashion shows, festivals and concerts. 2004-2008 art-director at Volga Volga Brand identity, Saint Petersburg. 2009-2012 owner and art-director at Pomellodesign, Saint Petersburg. 2014 end of art-director and designer career in advertising.
