Each work is an original, each work is crafted individual start to finish. Works begin with the base image. Each an individual size, coloration, texture, and so forth. Some may be similar yet individual, kind of like siblings. Work is crafted initially in camera underwater, then digital negative worked in adobe programs, test printed them master printed on canon large format printer with genuine canon pigment inks on canson infinity etch paper 310g paper, archival onto birch wood cradle panel, pan pastels, oils, pigment sticks, cold wax medium and molted wax with resin. Love of ocean and water, living by the coast and finding peace. October 2012 Superstorm Sandy flooded my home and studio, many helped me not of to survive but to fine serenity as I rebuilt my life. The water was and still is a place that inspired me. My work is about restorations and calmness, helping others to create a peaceful surrounding that fills them with love. By using a hazy style, like Claude Monet, giving the impressions with open compositions that are realistic, yet dreamy.

“Through my work, I strive to capture the beauty of hope and change after devastation." The use of photography crafted under and in the water, monochromatic pigment inks on fine papers, pastels, oils, and sweeping layered cold & and hot melted wax to create fluidity, sometimes adding surface scratchings for perfect imperfections. This artistic process satisfies my search for tranquility.” Susan Roche lives in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and was raised in Colts Neck, NJ. In 2012 she experienced the devastation of Superstorm Sandy. Susan holds a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies ( Fine Art and Communications ) from Monmouth University. Her professional career began at eighteen, working as a local newspaper photojournalist. Her patience and empathy quickly developed into a high-end family portrait specialist there. After Superstorm Sandy, she began following her to share her art in new ways; this is when the ethereal underwater mixed media work began.
