Remedy (2) Artwork

This belongs to a series using the metaphor of "Message in a Bottle" to explore the themes of isolation, connection and healing. This was inspired by the discovery of 100 letters written by my grandfather, who I never met, to his wife, while he was a young soldier during WW1. This part of the series focuses on mental remedies to strengthen the mind -- my grandfather suggested in one letter that my grandmother fortify herself against her longing and anxiety by imagining the day they would be together again and then filling her heart with joy. He said this was how he was coping with the loneliness and anxieties of the situation and how it was the best "remedy." Ironically, this parallels my own interest in healing per the methods of Buddhism and other wisdom traditions.
