Rise no. 3 mixed media hand finished print Artwork - Limited Edition of 50

This is a mixed media piece. The background is a print of the original 'Rise no.3' but I have worked onto it with hand cut paper elements to give depth. The print is window mounted and the paper elements break out of the constraints of the mount into the white space around the image. The piece is a limited edition of 50, but every one is unique. The colours and shapes will differ each time as they are hand cut and the composition will slightly differ each time. The Rise series: Taking inspiration from nature and it's delicate beauty and raw power; Lisa created the Rise series as a response to feelings of hope and fear she was feeling at the time. Lisa took herons as a starting point and then abstracted them in a flurry of energy, texture and colour. The paper and card is sculpted to have a 3 dimensional textural feel, layering hundreds of hand cut strips of paper. The circular shape and dynamic movement aim to capture the power of wild birds in an abstract way; as a source of raw energy and beauty. All the elements are painstakingly cut by hand, all internal and external structures are hand cut from paper and card. This work will be framed and on display available to purchase at the Other art fair, March 9 – 12, London.
