Self-portrait || - Limited Edition of 100 Artwork

My name is Kateryna (Katya) and I'm 22 years old Ukrainian artist, based in UK (Reading) and Spain (Lloret de Mar). Started my career as an artist few years ago, however the art passion came to me from an early childhood. Graduated from University of Reading 2020 (UK), in BA Art. I've been always inspired by different drawings and paintings, techniques and colours. My artworks mostly include use of oil on canvas and also sometimes board, with depictions of the female nude in it.The nude figures are coming mostly from my own photographs, as I also used to do photography. I decided to use my own body as a source of inspiration. I’m taking pictures of myself in order to situate my body within the practice in relation to my work. Because my practice focused on the female nude, it was quite hard to gravitate away from commentary on the objectification of the female body in pornography.My work was always seen as ‘erotic’ due to it’s technique and models poses. However during last 4 years I tried to experiment a lot with the technique and the style of my paintings. I hope you will find my style interesting and strong.
