VIEW IN MY ROOM
At around 6:50 p.m. on October 20 2020, soldiers took out their guns and began to shoot at the mass of unarmed young protesters assembled at Lekki toll gate in Lagos, who had defied a curfew to demonstrate. The Lekki Massacre epitomizes the very violence that protesters have long fought to abolish. This series speaks to the blatant violation of people’s rights to life, dignity, freedom of expression and peaceful assembly exhibited by soldiers on that faithful day: to kill without consequences. It is multi-panel design with 3 sub-themes WE CAME IN PEACE OCTOBER TO REMEMBER WE ARE HERE FOR THE VIOLENCE
