Spatium is a video which was part of the video installation Spatium 2.0 Spatium 2.0 is an art installation game: it’s a making of a virtual person, devided on three parts: SUPEREGO, EGO, ID. The point of the installation game is that people find the parts by themselves through searching for it and simultaniously connect the meaning and the message that the installation holds. The installation was build on three floors, where Superego was on the highest floor, Ego in the middle and ID in the basement. The idea is that the public input into the installation happens only through Superego (which is collective unconscious) and by that we influence on Ego. Ego is made out of different social profiles and changes it’s profile everytime someone writes something in Superego, like people change masks when society infuences on them. In the meanwhile ID, which are our unconscious agressive and sexual needs, is happening independently and we have no control on it but nevertheless effects us just the same if not more and it manifests as an unpredictable flashes through Ego. WORNING: Graphic content, real blood and organs. More info and video available to see on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/28261206 Avard for best video in DigitalBigScreen Festival & many nominations.

She has been awarded the official status of Independent Cultural Worker, assigned by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia. Currently she is actively involved in a variety of contemporary art and production areas, artist residences and continues her studies at the Master's degree of Media Arts and Practices in the field of contemporary art. "Valérie Wolf Gang is forming in the artist of the new generation, who is more sovereign, strong, uncompromisingly clear in her expressive power, while showing excellent knowledge of the techniques and media she uses." - Rene Rusjan, professor of Contemporary Arts "Demanding production practice which comprises the work of the artist, especially the quality and potential of its practice shows that Valérie Wolf Gang belongs to the group of the population that deserves the status of Independent Cultural Worker as well as other potential state support, mostly due to that its practice can be developed and maintained at a high artistic level, while able to exceed the boundary between art and its users." - Dr. Petja Grafenauer "In Valérie Wolf Gang's work, the sense of social and ideological alienation is played out through careful visual choice of materials and reconstructions. In her work one is made aware of the larger ideological or symbolic order through the actual material configurations being presented - that things can be about something else other than what they are made out to be." - dr.
