Stringed Beauty Artwork

Lionel Nemeth is a self-taught Belgian artist who explores the delicate balance between technology and craftsmanship. He works with a rare form of string art: hundreds of nails are placed along the edges of a wooden board, and an ultra-thin nylon thread is hand-tensioned thousands of times to gradually reveal a design. Each piece begins with a custom algorithm that calculates the path of the thread, but the final creation is entirely manual—built slowly through precision, patience, and intuition. The process is meditative, with each work requiring dozens of hours to complete. Lio.Na has developed his own visual language, blending geometry, light, and emotion. All of his works are unique pieces, signed and numbered, never reproduced. Based in Belgium, he creates at a deliberately slow pace, at the intersection of code, art, and material.
