THE PERFECTION OF IMPERFECTIONS Alan Pringle (b. 1966) Pringles creative practice flourished from his initial training as a welder and metal fabricator in Glasgow. Along with being a self taught artist,he has combined a variety of activities (from undertaker to ambulance driver) to arrive at a perspective that places him within `The Outsider`tradition. Beginning in !997,he has exhibited, mainly sculpture,in galleries throughout the west of Scotland and undertaken numerous public and private commissions. The raw and chaotic energy of urban existence is at the epicentre of his latest collages produced since 2019. Personal and societal fragilities are viewed through the grimy kaleidoscope of tabloid culpture, media celebrity, corporate greed, and political corruption. Like many,Pringle has concerns for the future of our irrational world but trusts that culture can offer larger perspectives and play a part in achieving more equitable and healing possibilities.
