Title : 'The Gubbins' Reclaimed vintage piano pieces are what make this 3 panel artwork so intriguing. The repetition of shapes appear all over the piece, giving the work a cohesiveness that is only broken by the placement of each part. In the lower half of the piece is the layered nucleus of piano 'gubbins', this is where the parts emanate then dissipate from, it's a kind of visual anchor. Out on each side of the frame the 'blast' of pieces from the nucleus was powerful enough to give the effect of piano pieces breaking through the wood frame. Behind the sculptural piano parts is a background painting, on ply board, that underpins the piece and gives it its foundation. Bands of black and white emanate out in unruly circular rhythms. Under the layer of black and white is a layer of colour that is only visible through the light scratching the runs over the whole piece. Overall the piece has an aged feel to it. The vintage piano parts, the scratched effect on the paintwork of the background and the broken frame all contribute to this worn feeling, giving the piece an air of previous history. The lead weight at the centre has 'Paris' (see last photo) stamped into it, giving a clue to the provenance of the piano 'gubbins'. Painted in acrylic. This piece measures: Height: 30 inches (76cm) Width: 37 inches (94cm) This includes 9cm spaces between the panels. Depth: 2 inches (5cm) I have installed a recessed keyhole slot on each panel on the back. The piece is ready to hang with just three screws (one for each panel) in a wall. The keyhole hanging method also allows the piece to hang flush and secure to the wall. I have signed and dated the artwork on the back. *SHIPPING* I make custom wood crates for all my artworks, ensuring safe passage. All items are shipped with a tracking number. This tracking number keeps you informed all the way from sender to receiver.

Vince is a London born, Bath city based artist who's work offers an alternative to the conventional plane and shape of framed paintings by bringing his sculptural wall art to attention the viewer. He creates artworks that focus on the interaction of colours, shape and depth. The composition and palette choices are influenced heavily by his teenage years spent as a graffiti artist. The evolution of this, post-graffiti genre, is evident in his work by the way he carefully composes sculptures of spacial balance making use of geometric and abstract forms. Vince's skillset is based in fine woodworking that has been passed down through generations of Bauhaus orientated artisans in his family. The discovery of artists such as Paul Klee, Joan Miro and Wassily Kandinsky urged him to introduce colour to his sculptures. His artworks can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide. The Bath Times have run features on his work over a number of publications. His pieces are constructed from premium birch ply. They are brush painted in artists quality acrylic paint.
