This mixed-media richly textured painting tells a story by up-ending the extremist warning of "chicken little" that the sky is falling when it was only an acorn falling upon its head. We don't want to listen to dire predictions about our environment and climate change. This screaming bird beside a yellow-orange explosion by the city's shoreline reminds us, once again, that our sky IS falling... a metaphor for avoiding catastrophe. Collaged textures, contrasts of thick and thin paints, and dramatic color-contrasts are used to expressively.

Abstract and Imaginatively Representational artworks that celebrate life's diversity. The focus is upon lyrical and dramatic moments of interaction between our inner and outer worlds -- where beauty is seen in many unusual forms. As an artist, I revel in the sensually dynamic qualities of paint and colour and wish for my work to connect with others in ways that enliven the senses, experience, and imagination. My art studio (open to visitors) is on magical Saturna Island, B.C., where I create works that have won some awards, appeared in news and media, and are part of private and public collections in several parts of the world.
