With a foundation in industrial design, Mee Ha has navigated diverse creative realms—from product and brand identity to UX design. Along the way, she recognized that design thinking—fluid, intuitive problem-solving—is the essence of all creation. The more she explored this concept, the more she saw parallels between human thought and liquid: ever-shifting, adaptive, and boundless. Every object—headphones, watches, shoes, and clothing—originates from thoughts that morph, evolve, and solidify over time. This realization inspired Ha to visualize the fluidity of ideas through art. Intrigued by the nature of liquid materials, she began reimagining the objects that define modern life in liquid form. Her series, Liquid Things, explores urban existence by merging advanced digital technology with handcrafted techniques, capturing fragments of contemporary culture through a dynamic, shifting lens. Each piece in Liquid Things carries layered meaning. An object’s purpose changes depending on who perceives it, where, and when—while others reflect the cultural shifts of an evolving world. To highlight these nuances, Ha embeds invisible messages into her works using materials that mimic the transparency and movement of water. These hidden inscriptions emerge only under light, creating a subtle interplay of humor, social commentary, and deeper reflection. She describes them as “water graffiti”—whispered messages that transform ordinary objects into storytelling artifacts, revealing their ever-changing connection to the world. This realization led her to explore the fluidity of ideas through her art. Fascinated by the nature of liquid materials, she began reimagining objects integral to modern life as liquids. Her works, Liquid Things, focuses on objects that represent urban living, combining advanced digital technology with handcrafted techniques to portray fragments of contemporary life. Each object in Liquid Things carries multiple layers of meaning. While the same item may serve different purposes for different people, others reflect shifting cultural contexts over time. To capture these nuances, Ha incorporates transparent phrases into her work, using materials reminiscent of water. Initially invisible, the messages reveal themselves under light, offering viewers a subtle interplay of humor, cultural commentary, and deeper reflections.
