My hybrid triptychs and diptychs interconnect sculptural, painting, installation and architectural studies. Concepts approach diversities, visual kinetics and compare object identities while questioning worldly concerns. These works are not necessarily conclusive but provoke open-ended conversations concerning the perceptions of form, color and communication. I refer to these works as Dimensional Paintings. I embrace a visual language utilizing abstract forms and color to support a narrative. Both color and form are used as signals. Geometric forms, patterns and color choices do convey special meanings. Tested results support the notion that diagonal and angular configurations are associated with threat, while rounded forms are linked to pleasure. A downward triangle is perceived as negative and a circle as positive in their meaning. I refer to this as form signaling. With some exceptions, color choices are based on color science. Color science maps our psychological and emotional responses to colors. Broad proven examples are; yellow signals optimism, red suggests immediacy, orange denotes excitement and creativity, grey enacts anxiety, dullness or indecision, while blue, purple and green are calming. Combining varied colors combinations can fuel complex results. This work comes with all hardware and a paper template for positioning and easy installing.
