About The Artwork
I began daily insulin injections to help control my diabetes about 3 years ago. Each pen needle is supplied in a sleeve or jacket (called a shield). I saved these shields until, a few months ago, I hatched an idea on how to arrange them on a board for maximum aesthetic effect. This piece, made of 878 shields, is the result.
