About The Artwork

Inspired by Vincents most famous works of art, i put together a collection telling a little of that story within the art itself. Vincent Van Gogh The Story Artwork framed by artwork of The Red Vineyards near Arles is an oil painting by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, November 1888. It depicts workers in a vineyard, which is believed to be the only van Gogh painting sold during his lifetime. Within the frame Vincent’s Bedroom in Arles is one of the artist's best-known paintings. The striking colors, unusual perspective and familiar subject matter create a work that is not only among Van Gogh's most popular, but also one that he himself held as one of his own personal favorites. Through the window is a view of 'The Starry Night" originally from the view from his studio/bedroom while in the asylum, painted mid-June 1888. A ghostly Vincent is still in the room behind his mother, Anna Cornelia Carbentus Vincent van Gogh’s turbulent relationship with mothers—especially his own—began a full year before his birth. On 30 March 1852, Anna Carbentus van Gogh gave birth to a son, Vincent Willem van Gogh, who was stillborn. Anna tearfully buried her son in the cemetery of the parsonage where the Van Goghs lived. A year later to the day, Anna would give birth to another son, whom she also named Vincent Willem van Gogh. Each day, the young Vincent would walk by a grave marked with his name and exact birthday, and weekly, Anna would take Vincent to decorate the grave of his older brother with flowers. Vincent grew up unable to compare to the perfect, imaginary personality Anna had constructed for her dead child. The tombstones show the first Vincent as foremost and larges in view as i felt this is how Vincent was viewed by his mother. Vincent's grave is marked nicely with his Sunflowers, 1889. Hi, I am English girl living in the USA, I believe in channeling my creative urges to produce unique artwork. My inspiration for my work is the man i am proud to call Dad, My art is born out of a combination of my education, training and experience, which allows my perspective as an artist to remain traditional yet contemporary. Art is how I battle against the indifference of humans and offer new ways of viewing the world. “Painting is easy when you don’t know how, but very difficult when you do” Edgar Degas
