About The Artwork

I was leaving the Whitechapel Gallery in London. It had started to rain, the sky was overcast and had placed a drab grey tinge to the scene. People were walking past with brightly coloured raincoats and umbrellas. I took a few photos as people hurried past for reference and created this digital painting based on them. I hope this serves to brighten up your day and your mood! Limited edition archival print (1 of 5) on Hahnemühle Rag (Giclée).

David Asch is based in Brighton, England. He has worked with technology as a creative tool since discovering its potential in the late 1980s; finding the precision and forgiveness of ones and zeroes opened up his freedom of expression and experimentation. The medium's portable nature allows him to create wherever he is, be it sitting on a bench in a park or in front of his computer at home. His artistic style flows with moods, ideas and trends. He creates by building on thoughts and dreams, sometimes with absolute depth of meaning, other times in complete abstract, based on a snippet of an overheard conversation, a song lyric or a glimpse of something observed. His art often dictates its own creation, much like the character in a book who speaks to the author, guiding them through their narrative. Aside from fine art, David designs websites and has also authored several books on digital photography and photo-editing techniques. He created and runs the digital art website, Twisting Pixels, where he showcases the work of digital artists from around the world in the form of galleries and interviews.
